I'm trying to create a Layout for the shop to use to prep intelligent fixtures. Since they would prep fixture based on type, it won't be efficient to sort by Position (Instrument Schedule). What I need is to sort by Instrument type, then Position (or Address).
What the shop needs is a page of all the VL3500s with Modes and addresses, then the next page would be a different type, etc, etc.
I made a custom sort, of Inst type, then Position, then address, but I can't really apply this to a layout. I used the sort in the worksheet, then tried the 'Current Worksheet'. That got me pretty close, but I couldn't rearrange columns (since it was based on current worksheet). After some fiddling, I can rearrange columns in the worksheet, and the schedule reflected this, but then I couldn't swap for any combined columns (like Circuit Name + Circuit Number).
I made a copy of this paperwork and named it "Instrument Addressing", hoping to use this layout on future shows. Unfortunately, since it's a copy of Current Worksheet, it always reflects the columns and sort of the current worksheet. The references are always live. I'd like it to be it's own layout.
Any other ways to get there I'm not thinking of?

Do alll fixture types have the same starting channel #. All 3500 are 101 thru 124. If so sort by channel paperwork

I'll make a Copy of Channel paperwork. Ideally, I'd sort by type, then position. Sorting by channel means if I have Channel 101 on HL boom and 102 on HR boom, that when addressing, the shop would most like put 2 fixtures in a case that are on different parts of the stage. Typically, I like to have all fixtures in a case going to the same position.

One way to do this is do View All, Sorted by Instrument Type on the worksheet, then set the worksheet columns to what you want, then print the worksheet.
