Is there a way to do this in LW? So far am still having to export to my old access db to get a lot of the features I need in printing labels, this one chief among them, needed for both b/o and rack labels. Examples attached.

No, this isn't possible in LW6. None of the focus group or beta testers asked for including relevant channel (or dimmer or instrument type, etc.) on a mult label. It's now on the wish list.

AC,
What I do is create a new User Field named Shared Channels. On BO and Rack Labels, mark the Shared Channel field "Omit if Empty."
So let's say you have 2 Mac Auras (201) and (202)
On the Worksheet, you put (202) in as a Shared Channel on (201)'s entry. In (202)'s row you leave Shared Channel Empty.
Create a Limit that hides any fixtures which have an empty Shared Channel when you print the labels you need for Breakers and/or Breakouts.
Does that make sense?

Thanks for the tip litedoctor! I'll certainly give your method a try, but for a large show that can be a lot of manual data entry, especially when i have already programmed access to do this for me automatically. also if you look at my examples you can see that for the rack labels i am counting and concatenating fixture types as well which with your method would require yet another user field with manually entered values. I do like the simplicity of designing and printing new labels in LW though so I look forward to one day being able to ditch access altogether!
Thanks for adding to the wish list johnmcsoft!
Edit: Litedoctor, if i am hiding units that have no shared channel field, what happens to fixtures which are not twofered? Won't they be excluded from printing?

ac,
You're right, I knew there was a bit to that I was overlooking. (I'm not usually at my LW computer when I read this board)
It means a little more manual data entry, I'm afraid....
(201) and (202) are both on Circuit 1, (203) is on Circuit 2. I want to print my Breaker Labels, so I want a label for (201)+(202) and one for (203)
To do this, I enter the following. For (201), the Shared Channel is (202). For (202), it is just an 'X', for (203), it's blank.
My Limit hides units which have an 'X' in the field, not those that are blank.

Ok, just came up with another solution here. This will alleviate having to place a 'X' in fixtures with Shared Channels
Use point values in your shared Circuit Numbers, but not the first unit on the Circuit (2, 2.2, 2.3, etc....)
Now in your Limit, set a condition for Circuit Numbers that Do Not Contain a period. You'll get the first fixture in each chain, but not the subsequent ones.

Litedoctor, This is a fantastic idea. Have you used it yet? Do all the features of LW play nice with point numbers in the circuit number field?

So far they seem to. The Linked Dimmers are smart enough to know that circuits 2 and 2.2 are in the same Dimmer. And since I do include all the circuits in my Break Out column, it becomes much more clear where to add a 2-fer with an extension.
