working with families

I like and understand the use of Family body to the barrels. However, I don't know how to list my inventory.

I've got 3 kinds of S4 bodies:

Coloursource4: (9)

575w S4:        (4)

750w s4:        (94)

and then 146 barrels across 6 different sizes.

The example in the manual doesn't make sense to me, since the "large" units (10 and 5deg) are the same body as for the rest.

if I had just 1 style of body, that would be fine, since all the barrels would fall under that body/family. The only way I can see this working (and I don't know if LW allows for this or not), is that there would be a S4 Family, with a sub family for the different bodies, and then another layer/level for the barrels.

Any thoughts? How do I make this work for me?
