Hi All,
I have experienced this problem on 2 separate plots. I have drafted a plot, then opened LW6 to import data, check inventory... all that good stuff. Thought the import happens, I get the message that LW "Cannot create Livermore Plot 2016_8_26.xml. Data exchange has been turned off".
I have tried renaming and removing the date at the end of the name... nothing has changed the issue.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
LW 6 6.0.4 VW 2016 SP4

Do you have any antivirus software running? Some have been known to prevent Lightwright from writing to the .xml file. There's a list at www.mckernon.com under the support menu, in the Data Exchange menu item. If you're running Windows, it's also possible that the location of the .xml file has permissions problems - Windows can be very aggressive about who 'owns' a file, and only lets the creator modify files (as LW does when it posts data to the .xml file).

I can't get the Data Export from Vectorworks 2016 to import into Lightwright 6. When I go to Data Import and try to select the file on my desktop the file is greyed out and I can't select it. What to do?

If you're using Data Exchange and you can't select the .xml file, then something's Very Wrong. Make sure the file has .xml as its extension.
If you're not using Data Exchange, give the file an extension such as .txt which Lightwright 6 recognizes as text (tab-delimited or comma-separated) and it should work.
BTW, this "New Forum Members" folder is intended to be a place where users say "hi" to each other and introduce themselves. You might want to post this question again in one of the help/questions areas.
