You'll need to get a PDF print utility. I use PrimoPDF, it's shareware and works great with Lightwright. You choose it instead of your regular printer when you want to print to PDF. Macs have print-to-PDF built into the operating system, so they don't need to use a PDF utility.

A lot of us use Clickbooks to create handy LW booklets. It also makes PDF's. www.bluesquirrel.com/products/clickbook/Unfortunately I feel like it is over priced at $50. I'm always on the look out for other booklet software

Off topic but does anyone have a resource for booklet printing on a Mac? I used to have an automator action that never really worked well.

I'm fortunate that my printers at home (Brother MFC color laser) and at the office (Konica MFC color laser) can do this. I didn't even realize it until recently. it's worth poking around the print settings to see if it exists. Way easier, I just have a saved print preset now.

Any of the "duplexing" printers will do this internally. The trick is having a deep enough stapler

I use a coil punch now and I will never go back to stapling! Anyone want a deep binding stapler? You can have it done at any Staples or Office store that does copying. There are some fairly inexpensive coil binding punches out there too.
Good Luck!

So here's a situation that may not have an easy answer-
I have Adobe Acrobat installed on my windows PC. I use it's printer driver to create PDF's from Lightwright (Print Paperwork, then choose Adobe PDF printer).
The default file name that the Adobe print driver offers is usually in the format: {paperwork name} - {show name}.PDF
So if I print the Instrument Schedule, I get "Instrument Schedule - Best Show Ever 2017-01-01.PDF"
If I revise the show file and give it a different date in the name, then I end up with "Instrument Schedule - Best Show Ever 2017-01-02.PDF"
I'd prefer to have the show file name first, then the paperwork name, so all paperwork from a specific show file sorts together:
Best Show Ever 2017-01-01 - Channel Hookup.PDF Best Show Ever 2017-01-01 - Instrument Schedule.PDF Best Show Ever 2017-01-02 - Channel Hookup.PDF Best Show Ever 2017-01-02 - Instrument Schedule.PDF
So my first question - is there a way to change the name that gets passed to the print driver to the format I would like?
Another question - when printing multiple types of paperwork via the Print Paperwork window, can there be an option to print each type as a separate print job so that when printing to PDF you end up with a separate PDF for each type and not one large PDF of all paperwork?

Agreed, a batch print option would be fantastic.

So my first question - is there a way to change the name that gets passed to the print driver to the format I would like? ** Not as currently coded. The print driver automatically uses the user-visible name of the current active window as the name. Lightwright could be written to change the name to whatever you want when the print job starts, then change it back afterwards. Another question - when printing multiple types of paperwork via the Print Paperwork window, can there be an option to print each type as a separate print job so that when printing to PDF you end up with a separate PDF for each type and not one large PDF of all paperwork? ** Only if you don't mind having to see and answer a system print dialog window for each kind of paperwork you're printing. So if you're printing a channel hookup, instrument schedule, and cheat sheet, you'd have to answer the system print dialog 3 times. Both of these are requirements of the operating system (both Mac and Windows), not Lightwright. If you don't mine responding to multiple print dialogs (which would include an additional name-the-file dialog), please file a bug report/feature request asking for this in a future Lightwright 7 or whatever.

Re: Printing multiple types of paperwork -
I'd love to see an option to include a blank page after paperwork, so that multiple types can be selected and printed duplex without running into each other. Ex:
Instrument Schedule(13 pages) Channel Hookup(9 pages)
Currently turns into a 22-page(11 pieces of paper) document w/ Channel hookup page 1 on the back of Instrument Schedule page 13.
Adding a blank page, you end up with: Instrument Schedule(14 pages) Channel Hookup(9 pages)
Which is a 23-page(12 pieces of paper) document, but the Channel hookup starts on its own page.
Could be named "Start new paperwork on its own page"

That's a great idea, can you go to www.mckernon.com and file a feature request? That way it gets attached to your account, so I can ask you questions about implementation when the time comes.
