Hey All!
Anyone have a way to get position to show up in the Cir Name Maintenance? It would be cool if those were linked.

The Label engine will extrapolate Position from your worksheet, allowing you to put Position on your Multi Labels (which print from your Maintenance list). So the data is linked somewhere in the depths of your show file.
But no, I haven't seen a way to put a Position field in directly in the Maintenance list.

I supose that's why it is labeled as "derived"
I think we need more things to be "derived" in LW!

there is a + and - symbol in the top right, which allows you to place a position field in circuit name maintenance. I'm still at the very beginning of using and understanding maintenance lists

Kevin, this is the answer to your Multi Cable Length question as well. In addition to Position, you can add the Cable column to the Circuit Name Maintenance list.

Sure I can add the column, but the information in that column is blank when i add it. Even though there is information in that column in my worksheet.

Yeah, I saw that, too.
I usually don't put my Multis in as a line on the Worksheet, so for me this is a way to include Socapex in my Cable counts without having to clutter up the worksheet.

K It's possible for worksheet rows to share the same Circuit Name, but have different positions - so Lightwright can't know which position you want attached to the circuit name. That's why you have to do it manually. File a feature request for a button to fill the entries, knowing that it won't be able to read your mind...

Even if you had a button to link the two cells, wouldn't that cause the cable lengths to be counted twice in any reports?

i dont use the maintenence lists at all, i use the worksheet rows and organize the worksheet like i would for an export to excel. that way all the data is available for placement in the lables.

In Lightwright 6, put the name of the multicable in the Circuit Name Column. For example: R1A.
In Maintenance/Circuit Name, in the Cable column, put the length of it in a way that describes it. For example: 6-ckt Soca @ 100'
If you need more than one length of multicable, separate them with commas. For example: 6-ckt Soca @ 100', 6-ckt Soca @ 50'
Breakouts go in Maintenance/Circuit Name, in the Breakouts column. For example: 11' Even 2P&G (F)
If you need a jumper for a specific light, put that into the Cable column for the worksheet row that needs the jumper.
You can then count Cable, and include entries from both the worksheet and the maintenance lists.
