My LD sends me read only files by e-mail. I can open them directly from the e-mail attachment, but not from an attachment copied to my files.
Is there a way to copy the attachment to a file so that it is still readable? Searching for the e-mail when I need to reference the file is time consuming.
As much as I dislike drop-box, would that be a better option for file transfer? (office machine is windows)

There's nothing special about a Lightwright .lw6 file, it's like any other attachment. Drag it out of your email message and put it on your desktop, then either double-click it or launch Lightwright and open it.
Dropbox is fine for transferring .lw6 files, as long as you don't try to work on them while they're in Dropbox: Always copy them to your desktop or other place on your local hard drive before opening/saving them.
