Hi,
Help please! I would love help figuring out why I cannot use the LW 6 load and dimmer features and have no access to them. I am not using legacy mode, but this new file from this company is starting to do the same things that caused me problems last year, even though I am laying it out from scratch instead of using the old file. It's happening again! We use Vectorworks 2017 data exchange through Dropbox and back up each file before working in it. We all thought last year's files were corrupt, as Vectorworks would not reconcile properly. So, we started over on the LW. I am not an expert user by any means, and only make labels about twice a year. Last year, I had trouble with all the prep labels and could not calculate loads at all or use the cable features... I have read the manual twice and all the other documentation and I under stand how most of the features are supposed to work. Maybe it's me?
very grateful for some advice,
-Amy

Amy, it is highly recommanded to not use data exchange with Vectorworks via Dropbox. This may causes all sorts of issues. Move your files (Vectorworks, Lightwright & XML) to your desktop. May be this will not solve your initial problem but it is at least on step in the right direction!

Are you using LIghtwright 6.0.14? That's the current version. If that doesn't fix it, then file a bug report at www.mckernon.com, and include the .lw6 file. That should get you an answer pretty quickly.

Hey Amy,
You don't need to put all the files on your local drive just the XML file. I keep a separate folder of XML files in my Documents folder. Just tell Vectorworks, under Spotlight Preferences, that you want to save the XML file to a custom location.
If you want to send me the file I can take a peak and see if I see anything weird about it.

Part of your problems may be that addresses are entered incorrectly in Vectorworks. This can stem from a long-standing problem in VW, where the U Address (a.k.a. U Dimmer) field isn't editable. Vectorworks 2018 Service Pack 2 finally makes all three related fields (Address, Universe, and U Address) editable.
Check out the "Lightwright 6 and Vectorworks Addresses.pdf" document, it has recommendations for how to get this all working. It's in Lightwright's Help menu.
