Hello. I think this might be the place to post this question. I am trying to import data from a Vectorworks 2016 data export file. When I go to "Import Data" in Lightwright 6 it won't let me select the file. The data file is greyed out. Any thoughts? I made sure the file was on the desktop and had no spaces or slashes in its name. Thank you.

I am trying to patch a new show. We have a large network system using a series of nodes. Often times our automated fixtures cross traditional universe boundaries. However, LW6 will not allow us to patch a fixture across those setup universe boundaries. Our console is still setup using the traditional universes, so I don't want to change the universe setup in LW. Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated! Essentially, I want LW to warn me that I am crossing a universe, but still allow me to create my patch in that manner.

Hi there. So I finally joined the LW family and have been enjoying getting myself up to speed. I’m spending most of my time now with getting proficient in label making for my shows, and mostly that has gone well working from the tutorial.
So my question is about Breakout labels. I don’t seem to be finding a clear set of instructions for building these. I have made labels that source the data fro the current worksheet, but that leaves be short on any unassigned “spare” circuits when printing. I’ve seen instructions suggesting sourcing data from “Maintenance/Breakouts” but I haven’t found that available under Maintenance. I missing something there…
Can you point me to a resource for finding a “best practice” for accomplishing the printing of breakout labels for each circuit, including unassigned?
Also, in using “Variable” formatting for a color field, what is the best way to set it if I want color when a text field is empty? For example: going to yellow under the condition that the “Instrument” field is empty, to denote circuit as spare. I’m sure there’s a best way, I just haven’t figured it out yet.
Thank you.
