www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CdhGVoNrVg&index=8&list=PLB3OteiEHRlxN2YIryej2lmrY4oJeTV9jSo I'd love to link my dimmer packs to addresses. I work in film and I'm adding, moving, changing, removing 12channel Rat pack Dimer packs everywhere on my stages. On one stage I have 24 sets with 30 "theoretical" packs that are actually only ten real packs that keep moving from set to set. In addition, the sets themselves change regualarly. About the only thing that tends to stay the same is the soca run in the air. My consoles are patched as though we had a complete complement of packs. When I watched the above video the address didn't seem to change. And that's the most critical part to me. Really only the address and channel matter to me in the end. So soca A is plugged into a pack addressed at 1.001. If a parcan is in A-1, then it would auto address at 1.001 .... right? And if i repatched it to circuit A-2, it SHOULD know to change its address to 1.002. Likewise if I changed the Address to 1.003, then it ought to change its circuit number to A-3. But the address doesn't seem to change as per the video. Tips?

The video leaves out one critical step: Clicking the link column in Setup/Dimming & Control's Dimmer Setup window. What the video does is map multicable circuits to dimmers. The next step is linking dimmers to addresses. Enter the starting address for each dimmer pack in the far right column. Click the column to the left of the starting address column for each rack you want to link addresses to.
Once you that, it should work as you expect. The only gotcha is a bug in 6.0.13 and earlier that prevents circuits plugged into doubled dimmers from working if the entire rack isn't doubled. This will be fixed in version 6.0.14, available sometime within the next couple of weeks.
