Hello all, congratulations on LW6 and THANK YOU for all the great new features!
Is there any chance to include a feature that specify the metric units for certain columns? LW´s default in "mm" (millimeter) makes total sense for gel cuts, but it is unfortunately way to small to use it as a coordinate when it comes to hanging a fixture. Using "m,mm" (meter, millimeter) instead would be a practical way of working. Is LW able to watch for the VW-document unit settings and take over that information for all relevant coordinate columns? Saying so, a European version of VW is using a comma as a separator between numbers where an US version of VW and LW is using a point.
Thank you for your answer & support!

This is the first time anyone's asked for this it, not sure why because it does make sense for fixture locations. Could you please file a format feature request via the Support/Report a Big menu at www.mckernon.com? Just choose feature request as the bug category when filing the report. Thank you!

i will do that, thanks!
PS.: How do you, or other people, locate they're fixtures on a Truss?

i will do that, thanks! PS.: How do you, or other people, locate they're fixtures on a Truss? Rene, I am aware of what you're trying to achieve. Here is what I do: Set your Vectorworks drawing to work in "m". Then use the search/replace tool to copy your "x-coordinate" in a user column. You have to do this for each fixture type separately. (You will get the full length of the coordinate, like 2,53497562543. You won´t be able to change those settings in Vectorworks!) Now move over to Lightwright, copy your "x-coordinate" and paste it into Excel. Set Excel to round that number to something that makes sense to you, so most likely you want to go for two digits after the comma, so like 2,53. Copy that number back to Lightwright and use the "Appendant" feature to add the unit "m".

Saying so, a European version of VW is using a comma as a separator between numbers where an US version of VW and LW is using a point. Lightwright gets all measurements from Vectorworks in raw millimeter numbers, not in a specific format. It should be easy to implement displaying "274,321 m" instead of "274321 mm" for X, Y, and Z coordinates. Gel sizes would remain in mm. If you're seeing decimal points in Lightwright measurements even when you've told Lightwright to use metric numbers, check your computer's system settings for the current language. For American/U.S. English, Lightwright should be using commas in numbers - for most others, it should be using decimal points. I can't test it here because I don't have anything other than U.S. English on my computers here. Thoughts?
